Hypnotherapy for Weight Loss in London, Reading, Didcot and Online

If you are tired of dieting, losing weight and then putting it back on, the problem may not be a lack of knowledge or willpower. Many people already know what they would like to change, but stress, habits, cravings, low confidence or emotional eating keep pulling them back into the same pattern. Hypnotherapy, NLP and practical mindset coaching can help you change that relationship with food and build healthier routines that feel more natural and sustainable.

I offer personalised weight-loss support in Central London, Reading and Didcot, as well as online. The work is designed around you: your goals, eating patterns, triggers, lifestyle and the changes you genuinely want to make. This is not a magic wand or an extreme diet. It is a practical way to help your mind and actions work together.

Does Any of This Sound Familiar?

  • You know what to do, but struggle to do it consistently.
  • You eat when you feel stressed, tired, bored, lonely or upset.
  • Sugar, chocolate, snacks or takeaway food can feel difficult to resist.
  • You start well, then one setback turns into giving up completely.
  • You eat too quickly, ignore fullness or keep eating when you are no longer hungry.
  • You want to exercise, but motivation and confidence come and go.
  • You feel guilty about food or uncomfortable about your body.
  • You want a healthier approach without punishment, shame or constant restriction.

These patterns are common. They are often learned responses rather than personal failings. When you understand the triggers and change the automatic response, it can become easier to make calmer choices and recover quickly from an imperfect day.

A Complete Mindset, Food and Fitness Approach

I am also a Level 3 personal trainer and fitness coach. This means our work can include appropriate ideas around exercise, healthy routines, nutrition and the everyday food choices that support your goals. Combined with hypnotherapy, NLP and positive psychology, this gives you a rounded approach: the food side, the activity side and the mindset behind both.

You will not be given a rigid, one-size-fits-all plan. We can instead explore realistic changes that fit your schedule, health, preferences and starting point. That might include eating more slowly, noticing genuine hunger and fullness, planning satisfying meals, drinking enough water, reducing unhelpful snacking or finding forms of movement you can continue. If you have a medical condition, take medication, are pregnant, have an eating disorder or are concerned about unexplained weight changes, speak to your GP or an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

How Hypnotherapy and NLP May Help

Hypnotherapy uses focused attention and relaxation to help you rehearse new responses and make useful suggestions more meaningful. NLP and coaching techniques can help identify patterns in how you think, feel and act. Sessions may focus on reducing the pull of cravings, interrupting emotional eating, strengthening motivation, becoming more aware of portions and feeling more confident about exercise.

The aim is not to make food frightening or forbidden. It is to help you feel more in control, so food becomes one part of life rather than a constant battle. We may also work on connected issues such as anxiety, confidence, motivation and sleep, because these can influence appetite, energy and decision-making.

Emotional Eating, Cravings and All-or-Nothing Thinking

Emotional eating can provide a brief sense of comfort or escape, but it may be followed by regret and another promise to start again tomorrow. Together, we can look at what happens immediately before the urge, what the food is doing for you emotionally and what other responses could meet that need. You can learn to pause, make a deliberate choice and move on without turning one choice into a ruined week.

Cravings can also be linked to routines: a particular time of day, a place, television, finishing work or seeing a certain food. Hypnotherapy can help weaken those automatic associations while strengthening alternatives. If food and sugar cravings are a particular concern, see help with food and sugar cravings.

“It’s been 14 weeks now during which time I’ve had no chocolate at all and lost a stone in weight. I walk through supermarkets now and see chocolate and sweets and it could be any other product. I don’t feel the emotional attachment to sweets or chocolate that I once felt. My energy levels are better, my sleep is better. I have no idea how it works – but it does. Whatever it is you’re looking for help with – food issues, weight loss, anxiety or sleep problems – it’s definitely worth giving it a try.”

Steady Change Rather Than Another Short-Term Diet

Healthy weight management normally comes from repeated, manageable choices rather than a dramatic burst of restriction. The NHS recommends making small changes, improving eating and drinking habits, moving more and choosing an approach you can maintain. Your progress may include more than the number on the scales: improved energy, better-fitting clothes, greater fitness, calmer eating and renewed confidence can all matter.

People with larger weight-loss goals will usually need patience, time and consistent effort. Some clients want help maintaining progress after losing weight; others need support taking the first step. We can agree realistic goals and adapt the work as you learn what helps. “Since I saw you (January 2010) I’ve lost 2 pounds less than 2 stone, I’m slowly disappearing. Thank you. I’m amazed but very pleased how well it’s worked.”

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

The number varies according to your goals, history and the patterns involved. Some people notice useful changes after two or three sessions, while others benefit from four to six sessions or occasional top-ups. Bigger or more complex goals may need longer-term support. No ethical practitioner can guarantee a particular amount of weight loss, but I can help you develop a healthier mindset and practical habits.
